Today we’re giving a shout out to Grassroots California! We’re excited to carry several of their products, and we know you’re going to love them as much as we do.
Although the name suggests otherwise, Grassroots California is actually located in Denver, Colorado. They are all about making quality merchandise at affordable prices and donating a percentage of all their proceeds to non-profit organizations. We love that instead of becoming sucked into corporate greed, they want to give back to their communities and communities around the world. Some of the organizations that benefit from their donations include Surfrider Foundation, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, NORML, and the Humane Society…just to name a few. These are some good folks.
Oh, and did we mention how Grassroots California got started? Ryan, or “Ruga,” its founder, wanted to produce a film about the California cannabis culture. He personally experienced the benefits of medical marijuana after a surfing injury and became passionate about supporting legalization efforts. In the process of marketing the film, he and the former art director designed a hat called “Cali Green.” When it came out, Ruga sold them on the Venice Beach boardwalk and local dispensaries. They sold out within a week.
We love that Grassroots California has come so far in the last few years, and we’re proud to carry their hats in our shops. Come by and check out the selection and know that your purchase is supporting people in need as well as the legalization movement.
